But yeah, even now it still feels like a mystery on why Amane and Mahiru's relationship set off in this manner. It doesn't seem feasible for any girl, or person idk, to extend that much assistance as per the standards of contemporary society. Economy, gender differences, prejudices, suspicion, common patterns between creeps and strangers alike, and all that depressing sht. Who in this state of the world would offer lunch to some random neighbor of almost the same age, with no other motives nor strings attached?

Then again... this is just Shiina Mahiru sticking to her values. And maybe, it's Amane we're talking about – the gentle stranger who, in the rain right in the midst of her despair, lent a tiny bit of emotional support for its own sake – and she just can't leave him alone. A bit of fascination for the oddities in life... that may be part of what makes these two closer to reality than I initially thought.
