Typically in these stories that remove the parents. They either are dead, as you suggested, are working abroad, or work long Japanese workhours and are never seen in the timeframe the story typically takes place (we never really see nightlife).

I mean, just because Maiko likes the little brother, it doesn't make the older brother's feelings any less valid. Obviously, I'd like Maiko to be happy and have a happy relationship with the guy she's been chasing after this whole time, but it's not as if she deserves to be with him. That's a pitfall I find myself and a lot of other people falling into all the time about someone "deserving" someone else's affection. Ya'll acting like Lil-Bro had all the right to "reserve" a girl until he matures/realizes his feelings and makes a move. The truth is that he is spending a shit load of time on that manager of his, and now that FeMC is with another guy he acts all possessive and "Why are you with her?".

Yeah I know FeMC had liked Lil-Bro for years, but also remember that it was mostly unappreciated, and it is now revealed that Mid-Bro had been holding back all those years only to see Lil-Bro showing little interest.

If for nothing else, he is forcing his attentions on Maiko when he knows she's head-over-heels for Keisuke. It's like his attitude is, "I'm gonna make you my girlfriend whether you like it or not." He's not being very nice or considerate of either Maiko or his brother. Typical jerkoff big brother.

Big Bro is being a Batman. Either Girl gives up on Keisuke and is happy with Big Bro, or Keisuke realizes how spending time with the Baseball manager makes Girl feel.

Either way is win-win for Girl.

She never confessed to Keisuke nor made anything clear to him, meaning they never reached the lvl of knowing what each other thnik, plus, keisuke has already shown jealousy towards her passing time with mid brother. This chapter was nothing but him being pushy, she already commented on him not being his type (not thinking hes a handsome, disliking his playboy atitiude) and yet this guy still pushes himself onto her. When has that ever worked...if anything forget relationship, this has a chance of backfiring and destroying your friendship

Look , I dont agree with Maiko's taking it slow and just sending signals to the dense Keisuke from afar , then again I dont like any girl doing that ( just ask the dumbass out), but at the very least she's isnt forcing herself on him to the point of disgust..

This whole chapter I kept thinking that the playboy is doing it deliberately to trigger the dumbfuck into realizing his feelings... but then that last panel.

When did Kaede make pushy moves? I think how Kaede acts is more normal that how Maika and Keisuke are acting. Truthfully I see no wrong on Kaede's part, everyone calls him pushy but he's actually basically accommodating for Maika instead of her just suffering seeing Keisuke with the manager. Even though Maika basically rejected him, they can still talk normally and have fun and tease each other and that's basically what he does. Walks her home and school and talk to each other. He's not even telling her to like him but to consider him as a candidate, learn the difference! In all honesty, I'm sick of seeing the dense Keisuke, and Maika's behavior of tsundere (even if they were childhood friends and were so friendly with each other when they were kids?) doesn't help the situation. She herself should know that Keisuke is freaking dense as well and her actions isn't letting him know her feelings so why does she do it anyway..? She's like at the border of making her feelings obvious but at the same time hiding it from him, like WHAT THE HECK DO YOU WANT?! DO YOU WANT TO CONCEAL OR SHOW IT?!! HE'S ALREADY A DENSE GUY SO YOUR ACTIONS WILL ONLY MAKE IT WORSE!!
I find Kaede a much better character, he was also with Keisuke and Maika with they were little and hung out with them, he's basically a third wheel Seriously why do we readers have to follow the trope of the dense character feeling jealous when his neighbor hangs out with his brother (one that all 3 hung out together and comfy with each other) and finds out his feelings there? Seriously it got boring real fast and in all honesty, I hope Keisuke x Maika doesn't happen, I thought it was a cool ship and obvious but the tsundere x dense trope added with childhood friends ANDDD neighbors does not bode well.. it's basically so unrealistic and... idiotic..
Kaede shouldn't have to sacrifice himself to make the Keisuke x Maika ship happen, it's obvious he holds some feelings for Maika and he's honestly making better moves than Maika and Keisuke mixed! I hope Kaede x Maika happen since if Maika learns to appreciate Kaede more, it would seriously make a better story.. They were all childhood friends that hung out (seen by last panel) so I really would hate if Keisuke noticed his feelings from this stupid drama... Seriously Kaede x Maika and Keisuke x manager, everyone will be happy~ <3
PS: Best couple is Kenji x Ranko! ALL HAIL THE BIG SIBLING RELATIONSHIP!!

A far better character development for Kaede than him being continually creepy with a 10 year old I'd say.

The rage in the comments when the feel good rom-com isn't perfectly and absolutely vanilla is real though.
