Well that just trying to be reasonable. But we know for story they need to stretch this out.

In retrospect, an intimate relationship between youngsters is something you still gotta be careful, as early pregnancies are a HUGE responsibility and a massive blocker to finish an education(which this, more often than not, results in dropping out and go straight to work force). THAT is mostly the reason why being too intimate is deem as "inappropriate", tho not necessarily "wrong". Let's also not forget that Japanese culture(unlike here in the West) sees virginity as something much MUCH more valuable(even sacred on some places). In here in the West, it is seem as a major inconvenience lmao
