Amira = contrived perfect waifu.
I feel sorry for her clan... Those lads all unmarried despite being bishies... while Karluk's village has a load of cute girls and ugly men.

Finally she got to him! He was becoming too obsessed with the matter and when he finally understood her and teared up, it was such a relief!

It's lucky Karluk has the baring of an excellent grown-up. I could easily see a lesser man becomming taken over by insecurity and jelousy caused by 1. Amir(a)'s own skill 2. her brother's skill

I got to say that Karluk's family is full of really substantial men. The father is clearly respected in the village, and is a man of leadership and responsibility who manages the village as a whole in a lot of ways. Karluk's brother is smaller than his father but is definitely making a name for himself. This is especially apparent in his management of the reconstruction after the big attack.

Karluk really ought not to have anything to worry about. His relationship with his wife is very good. I like little scenes where he is playing an instrument and singing and she dances. I can see them doing that well into their old age together. But the other thing is that Karluk went head to head against Amir's own father with a spear. It is no small thing for a man on foot to fight another man who is on a horse. The horseman has the advantage of elevation and speed, as well as the intimidation factor of the sheer mass of the animal. But Katluk didn't flinch or back down, even when his spear had been cut in half. He has the heart of a lion for the defense of his wife. He really has nothing to worry about, and there is really no one to compare to him in terms of bravery.
