Madina and Ali's story is fascinating to me in a way that it shows how real money problem is back in the day. You don't talk about true love, gold digger, money is one of the true value of man. Madina is just really an oddball with a little bit too much pride.

No new chapter yet, but I saw on the Otoyomegatari reddit that there has been an update on/from the mangaka (i think she is in the process of getting a Shirley volume published?? idk I can't use reddit anymore)
