Yeah, I know, realism... but up until now the topic of religion was very conveniently avoided for the most part.
Now along comes this arc and they're laying it on THICK. This isn't the kind of thickness I signed on for.

Ah well... can't be helped, I guess. That is just what it was (and is) like in those parts of the world.

@SotiCoto they are Shias, a minority sect that considers themselves a branch of Islam (and Iran is predominantly Shias), but the mainstream & conservative Islam as a whole rejects Shiism. Not that it matters when it comes to the real deal, but it’s made pretty clear that this particular story is heavily based on Shia beliefs and not conservative Islam.
