The afterword describes Mori Kaoru's research trip to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. It'd be nice to get these translated, for readers who are curious about the history/geography/etc and the accuracy and research that goes into her work.

She does mention:

Uzbekistan is the model/inspiration for Karluk's village. (Based on the image/style of Bukhara)
Kazakhstan is the model for Amir and Azel's homeland.
