I only read the first chapter so I can't say much but I love how the mangaka did his/her research on central asia. The story feels as if you're living in central asia and the cultural references are great. I love central asian culture and I think this manga would be a good read for those who love central asia and their culture.

feminists ?????????? You don't the speudo-ones of our modern world ? or the feminazis?

If you want to become a feminist, go read the classics of literature, philosophers. Just go read the geniuses works from educated/noble women from the french revolution. That's how. Not from the bullshit the outside world is now made of.

I love this manga so much! It’s such a refreshing read about culture in Central Asia and, like the western traveler described, it’s like an adventure that pulls you in into something beautiful and different! Strong strongly recommend!
- side note: different cultures ask for an open mind. To a “feminist” it would seem the women are being restricted and all that, but to those women it is simply a lifestyle, and a culture they are comfortable and well- versed in. Enforcing modern feminist views on them for the sake of progressive empowerment is very misguided here.

@laan Probably Kazakhstan or Turkmenistan since they encounter russian army, and other countries of the central Asia.
The Russians began advancing into the Kazakh steppe in the 18th century, and by the mid-19th century, they nominally ruled all of Kazakhstan as part of the Russian Empire. In 1936, it was made the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic, part of the Soviet Union.
Kazakhstan was the last of the Soviet republics to declare independence during the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991.
Turkmenistan has been at the crossroads of civilizations for centuries; Merv is one of the great cities of the Islamic world and an important stop on the Silk Road. Annexed by the Russian Empire in 1881, Turkmenistan later figured prominently in the anti-Bolshevik movement in Central Asia. In 1925, Turkmenistan became a constituent republic of the Soviet Union, the Turkmen Soviet Socialist Republic (Turkmen SSR); it became independent after the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991.
Amir clothes looks like Turkmenistan traditional dresses.

Amir and Karluk are said to live near Bukhara, which is in modern-day Ubekistan, I've heard people speculate that Karluk is an Uzbek(/Karluk), while Amir is a Kazakh.
