"YOU are HUGE! That means you have HUGE ROOTS! GROW AND FLOURISH!"
They reveal later that players can become subordinates if they wish (You can also un-subordinate yourself by sending a ticket to management so it's less appealing for players to subordinate players)wouldn't that mean that all players are actually subordinate to some entity
If (1) players and NPCs are treated the same,
(2) NPCs can respawn by being subordinate to someone, and
(3) players are mysteriously able to respawn on their own,
then wouldn't that mean that all players are actually subordinate to some entity, like the game master or something? That would also prevent players subordinating other players, since the ants have shown that entities can't be double-subordinated. Maybe the NPCs can also pay the EXP respawn-bypass cost if they believe it in hard enough.
"You fool, that was my afterimage!" — Sieg if he could speak while fighting Rare, probably.
Edit: P.S. Wouldn't be surprised if there's a niche sect among the players or NPCs that praises the miracles of respawning as a roleplaying religion. Every player can be Jesus if they wait 3 days.
Yup but you mean generic as in mc the only one to find way to be OP? or mc pretending to be a wandering NPC boss lining up her actions deliberately and accidentally to an overall coherent story? Because I crave to read more of the latter with how fun this series did it and hope you can recommend more plsThis is actually pretty generic vmmo as story but is very well written and drawings are good.
An additional detail to what others have said: The coming of players were prophesized by a few special NPCs as the arrival of the World's Kin since they can't die, can't be controlled, and appeared out of thin air like a spawned subordinate. So essentially the "world"/dev is every player's master who can lend the role to anyone but can take it back via support ticket. If (1) players and NPCs are treated the same,

For those that can respawn, that's why they can't instantly come back and have to wait out the full 1 hour timer.NPC can't respawn because they can't press the "respawn" button since they can't see the system prompts
nice spoiler, thanks brosome spoiler this indeed made the game kind off whole mess later on but somehow the dev just get along with how MC playing her game since MC and later on with her sister and friend end up treated as NPC Raid Boss by other player even created dungeon that officially recognize by the dev team, also the real game will start later when the story turn in building kingdom game rather than standard VRMMORPG which MC and friends already did got head start, thought indeed this game also had "last boss" like thing which become MC group final goal after destroying one of country
It's good to have a goal for yourself!
Even if that goal is to destroy all of humanity.
you're not wrong lol more over later when she literally erasing one kingdom from map and made their city into dungeon she own that Officially approved dev team, also many chaos that she and friend cause in other country just because she need material from "evolved" king like being to break seal of "last boss" like thing"Have plan to kill everyone you meet"
She was already a PK-er and the system did say there's no difference between NPCs and Players so...
Destroying all of humanity is just one big PK project.
Can you think of any better reason? Makes perfect sense to me lol.So she become the demon lord just because she's bored. Understandable.
damn a game like that would be dangerous to make, a free world that is at a stagnant stage, nothing really bad happen, but nothing really good too, no real ploted bad guy, no major disaster at the horizon, at best maybe some revolt or coup here or there.
but then you put player in it. some will do their own *hit, open a shop, do quest, but some if they have the freedom will mess *hit around, pking, turning revolt into full blown revolution and some with too much time on their hands will go for world domination
but that's only if player have that kind of freedom if not could be a real flop of a game
Probably yggdrasil
i dont remember Rea tried to subordinate other player but she and her sister kinda tricked 4 (or its 3 i forgot) newbie to join their side without explain she and her sister is player(remember most other player still think Rea and her group are special boss NPC), the newbie girls end up got powered up thought as chimera soldier(their base character are human/beastman) and end up scared and traumatize some PK duo who join bandit NPCIf (1) players and NPCs are treated the same,
