To be honest, for me, this whole raid event felt a bit too much like someone who's max level with endgame gear just stomping noobs at beginner town. Even when the defenders manage to do something vaguely successful, it never feels even close to being "on no! danger!". I really hope it improves after this, with some actual threats to Rare. Otherwise, for me, more of the same 'noob stomping' will become dull.

As far as Leah's concerned, that's exactly what she's doing. If it were not for the fact that she wants the capital intact to re-purpose as her second managed exp farm, it would have been razed to the ground within an hour. She has farmed these mooks making them her unwitting exp delivery mechanism for months and there is no one as far as she's concerned that has access to as much resources as she has. She is Queen, they are less than ants because her ants are above them.

She's dismissed it already as being a minor obstacle, but that tiny 50exp she scraped up at the very beginning by inflicting the albinism and poor eyesight traits on herself were what helped define who she is. And she cannot forget those roots even in the face of the 2-3000 exp she just spent on her rebirth.

Oi, don't you guys have party chat or something, why talk in open channel?
Granted, they thought she was a NPC boss so there was no need for that, but still ...
Hilariously that's exactly what Rare thought to herself in the novel during the fight (manga cut that out unfortunately)

And we are getting close to one of the best trump card reveal.

this might sound very dumb, but how are the gamedevs calculating here?
what is the point of a boss character that cannot be beaten in an mmorpg?
If you can't handle the Boss, you didn't bring enough DPS....

Also:
Game devs: "This Boss will be impossible to beat, so it'll lock the area we will use for... until we're good and ready."
Players: "Might take a couple of months, but..... Hold My Beer...."
Game Devs: "WTF?!!!"

the thing that aoe magic can cause damage to the caster when the spell wasn't a crit fail is kind of weird to me

That's some serious amount of gap moe. The greatest, most imposing demon lord, the most powerful threat to the human world of the current times... has poor eyesight and has trouble seeing her opponents.
Speaking of gap moe
she can't eat burdock roots

You would think with all the advanced AI they would consider a boss targeting the leader. Hell you don't even need advanced AI to mark who the leader is.

There IS no party system. It's an MMO, sure, but there's no official social systems apart from friend chat/"DMs". No such thing as guilds, no party UI, no party chat, no such thing as raid groups, heck no ability to see what an entity is called let alone any details aside from what you can perceive normally*. Every entity is equal except for the fact that non-player entities cannot see system messages such as confirmation dialogue boxes. Irrespective, it's amusing how because they assume Leah to be a NPC, they just shout out their strategies in the open.

Extremely recently. She's correctly described as a newborn calamity class entity. She's just did a double rebirth from Elf to High Elf to Queen of Destruction. In fact, so recently she hasn't even looked at her new skill tree... However, she was already powerful enough with her living armour to pulp other players with her bare hands during the first large scale event. Leah is so powerful, that she has raid bosses as her subordinates.
Is Queen of Destruction an LN translation or an additional title on top of Maoh/Demon Queen/Magic Queen?
Adding on to your explanation too, it's been roughly 7 weeks since the open beta started, 4 weeks since the 1st event that drew a lot of attention to her great forest, and 10 days since her awakening as a Demon Queen.
She's been exploiting subordinate exp slavery since her 1st week and invader exp taxation since the 1st event. Production and support activities also give exp but in battle it scales with difference in strength and she's been using her far weaker NPC subordinates to continuously farm players without diminishing returns no matter how much stronger she herself gets.
Sure the players gain exp too but her effectiveness is also on another level, like how 100 exp on 100 players could increase their stats individually by 100 but Rare could increase her stats by a full 10,000 and overpower them individually or hit them all with an aoe spell. Even with a 90% debuff for example, she's still 10x stronger.
That's why the biggest damage to her right now is still her own spells but she prefers tanking known tolerable damage over being bonked by a group in a melee and risk them dealing unexpected damage or secondary effects.

The LN actually doesn't go anywhere near as intricate as this manga adaptation for this scene IMHO. I actually expected this sequence to be done in one chapter or skip ahead to the aftermath after the last chapter's cliffhanger. But instead it looks like we'll have at least one more chapter going in chronological order.

Anyhow, more opportunities to display Leah living her dreams and being a flashy boss, and it's only going to get better.
I'm impressed they showed her kicking with that long dress! twice! with heels!

the thing that aoe magic can cause damage to the caster when the spell wasn't a crit fail is kind of weird to me
Whether it was a mistake or an inability to throw, dropping a grenade on your feet sounds like a crit fail tho. With Rare's stats, her aoe spells are more powerful but with her short-sightedness, she can't aim her far enough to not include her.

It's the licensed LN translation, seems like recent licensed English translations do everything to avoid using "Demon Lord" if they can help it.
Edit: granted, this translation also bring us some chuuni badass name changes/localization
Golden Dragon -> Draco Aureus
Holy King -> Thearch
Evil King -> Heresiarch

she used the dio especial on him XD, apart from that she really knows how to adapt in the moment in the middle of the battle
it will be interesting if she can learn a magic or something to counter act her negative traits

the thing that I like here is that it lets our protagonist go full-ham on self-indulgent power gaming, with the blessing of the devs, but they also fully win-out because they get to have an extremely powerful/dangerous player character be a "big villain" for their big marketing fight, and she's bringing a human brain to bear on other players rather than an AI NPC that would have limitations in flexibility facing off against multiple humans.

So they get a more engaging and threatening boss villain for their game, and Rare gets to be super awesome and special and have fun in her own way without stepping on the toes of the people who could just shut her down for causing problems.
big brain move from Dev. Player have more flexibility and understand other player POV so make better boss.

this also means dev didn't need to do character balancing or nerfing certain player build but instead encouraged other to find and explore how to get around such build.

normal dev: you are too broken so we need to nerf you to make the game fair.
chad dev: you are too broken, how about you become boss for us, we gave you extra and special rewards.

I recently started reading the book and in book 1 the devs say that the game has no partying or guilds, so the only chats are public and friend which is limited to pier to pier.

The second book does call her demon lord and queen of destruction, even though the first book only calls her queen of destruction.
