Yes, our MC is an ordinary player, but remember that every NPC is treated exactly as an ordinary player as well, in this game system. The only difference between PC and NPC is that there is no-one to push the button that says "Do you want to re spawn immediately?", so they are forced to wait for the full time of an hour.
An NPC can do most anything a player can do in this game.

She charges right back in thinking she's unstoppable all over again because she's not holding back this time!...what do you guys think is gonna happen to our adorable muscle head? Think the author isn't ballsy enough to kill the MC twice with a comeback fake out? Think the prime minister is out of cards to play?Imagine if they somehow managed to convince Rare to publish the boss fight she lost as well as some parts of her crying scene afterwards while still pushing the event NPC showcase narrative.
Players would see an intelligent NPC suddenly realize:
that she's been revived...
that she died in the first place...
that she's all alone again(potential fake lonely backstory)...that she doesn't even know if her subordinates will come back...
...and that she wasn't able to overcome her "birth defects" in the end...

Instant backlash against the bully raid team!Also note that the timing wasn't elaborated on the WN(idk about LN) but I believe Wayne and the others took at least an hour to regroup(no local fast travel) and finish their post-raid discussions. In the first place, part of their plan involved some players not reviving immediately in order to pile bodies to use against Rare so they gotta wait for them.
This lets Rare's return still fit her NPC image as they think she came flying back immediately after her 1hr revive timer as if by design for the event. Whereas she actually revived instantly but spent more than an hour cleaning up her face, researching player's skills, exploring her own skill trees, just splurging all the exp she gained in her invasions and horded before it, and then finally flying all the way from her home base.
It's odd that Leah started as an Elf, because she has a Book of Grudges. And names only get put in there, never taken out.
