Seems like an original take on the villainess and Otome game genre. They made it mind control so he doesn't actually have the magic of plot guaranteeing his success

It seems to be "will of the world" and it looks like he has already snapped out of it, although it doesn't seem like he recalls what happened while influenced yet. With that in mind, the gears make me think they are the planned story and they were grinding because it wasn't being followed perfectly. I was hoping they would break apart and freely spin when he snapped out of it to show the story was no longer controlled, or at least grind more violently to show the story was going less smoothly and they would break once he gets the others to snap out of it.

But oh no - it's Utoon (pretty dodgy MTL and censorships) and Reset Scans (thinks that "absolute" is spelled as "apryuuto")
I hope this manga gets some mileage out of these two.
