Honestly I forgot, why is it that people hate lesbian love rivals again? I would assume its that people dont enjoy love rivals in general, but people are harping on her being a gurl in love so much and its like, would her being a guy instead change anything? Actually as im typing this im starting to remember more, I think the annoying parts of lesbian rivals is probably that they can hog the love interest more easily because their both girls? (and be allowed to be more of an asshole cuz gurl?) I guess I can kinda see traces of that here, but these comments feel like a overreaction based on one chapter. Seek medical help if you actually want the mangaka to experience suffering lmao

Yeah, I think lesbian rivals (in manga that is) tend to be more insidious than male ones. If a male rival is too clingy, they just get labeled as a creep and get socially isolated, but lesbian ones tend to stick around and continue harassing and subverting the lead, sometimes for the entire duration of the story.

It's the attitude of most of these lesbian (or just really really REALLY clingy female friend) rivals. Most of the time they act like rabid misandrist who consistently abuse the male characters for being males. Most of the time, there is no repercussion for their actions. No character development. No interesting events happening. No nothing. It's just them hating on the male characters for the sake of comedy and nothing else.

It'd be cool if there is a development where these lesbitches (because that's what they are. Fucking trash of a one dimensional bitch characters) are acting like misandrist to cope with the fact that their love interest have no romantic interest in them, so they cope with putting down others and being a hypocrite to feel better about themselves. Then they faced a character development moment and grow better as a character, losing the hateful misandry, and progressing to just hating the MC NOT because they are males, but because they are their love rivals.

Hell I'd even take them ONLY acting like an asshole to the MC and being a decent human being to the others. Because at least there is some more dynamics in their love triangle or something like that.

It's fun seeing these female rivals abusing the male characters the first few times the came around several years ago. But by now they are so much of them it's getting boring and annoying. It's like how the violent tsundere tropes, or the shitty sex crazed male friends tropes, are getting fucking annoying and tired to see in manga. I especially hate the shitty sex crazed male friends trope. Fuck those characters. They are so shit, I wonder how the hell can anyone still wanna be friends with them.

Fucking Ranko. That’s literally what Rank is and I loathe her with all my heart. (Tbf i loathe everyone from that damn manga expect the baker girl.)

I've seen this in reverse (the straight girl going bi for a chance with the ML) in as mainstream a title as Komi-san, even though that same title went feet-first for the lesbian misandrist trope as well. Mixed bags and all.
