Im very joyous that parts of the LN that i waited to be scened has finally come true! Though its not as grand as i imagined while reading them back then but its still great! from the wrath of ainz to lupu to the mount of ainz by a bushy gorilla! Doumoarigathanks maruyama kugane sensei!

Edit: also—though idk whether its actually in the raw or its just lost in translation—its kinda weird to read some of their lines when they called ainz with just ainz like dropping the honorifics. I never saw them drop their honorifics in the LN iirc.

But Ainz is a normal human in a liche's avatar. The readers point of identification is that he still thinks as a decent human, and not a liche.
When evil things are done in Nazarick to other humans it's more disconcerting because of Ainz's humanity.

he USED to be human and that's how we identify with him, but he isn't one and doesn't think like one

@Qelix remember when they first teleported to the New World and they were scared because they thought Ainz may leave them as well. Remember when Demiurge said it would be good if he had an heir. Right after that Demiurge started to experiment on humans and demihumans. He went to a place called Abellion Hills which is near to the Holy Kingdom and he captured several humans from villages. There's also a lot of demihumans in that region so he's experimenting to see if humans and demihumans could breed and he's hoping that he can find a way to make Ainz breed. Also, remember that they had a limited stock of spell scrolls and they couldn't use much because of that but Demiurge found a way to secure a supply of low-tier scrolls. Yeah, those scrolls came from the said humans. In the past, he said he was using bipedal sheep for that. He was trying to make a joke but Ainz misunderstood and he thinks that Demiurge is using chimeras for scrolls. He was also gonna use the humans he captured from the Royal Capital but Ainz said kill them without suffering so he couldn't use them.
