Dunno about this one, I don't really like seeing someone ruining their lives by getting an addiction

It is always something amazing to see manga characters wearing masks and face shields. I usually do not expect to see it.

Author getting on with the times with COVID preparedness. I have bed news for those who have to use face shields though; I recently read an article on a study (might have been a Japanese study in fact) that concluded they're pretty worthless when it comes to actual protection.

@Anomander Unless you're wearing N95 or N99 masks, the mask won't protect YOU. What it does is protect the PUBLIC from YOU if you're a carrier, assuming you're wearing it properly. The Japanese have traditionally worn masks for exactly this purpose for years. This is why the masks help in Asian countries where the idea of protecting the public good is ingrained in the population, like in Japan, China, both Koreas, and Singapore, but fail everywhere else.

@sssr Which is what was said, this is common kowledge. At least I hope it is, I've seen discussions where someone thinks it protects them. I took the opportunity to check the source of the report and yes, it was a Japanese supercomputer simulation, looking at shields "commonly used" in service industry. Nearly all smaller airborne droplets (<= 5 micrometers) blow right through and half of larger (<= 50 micrometers) get through. So they're a largely poor replacement for masks.

I guess the logic for the sponsorship was "Try us, we're so fun it's addicting!"

@AnimuVsMango Yeah, it could be interpreted in two drastically different ways. One is like the one you said, and the other meaning is that starting pachinko is probably a bad idea because of its addictive nature. Seems the company interpreted it your way.

I think it's more about saving face. Like when the tobacco industry in the US paid for the no smoking campaign.
