That was one of my hypothesis during the beginning, but so much shit happened from then that I had simply left it (the theory) in the shelf.

And yeah... I guess is kinda hard to feel true love for a dream (even if a dream full of wonderful gals), and in the end MC's friend is the girl who without power of libido and anything loved him in the real world, and stayed with him (crippled and all), besides falling too and being his friend for years even before.
