@Historybuff6969 The other day I watched a video where a bunch of random, youngish Japanese living in Japan were interviewed. Maybe one of them knew what feminism is. A few thought it means feminine. Of course a very limited number of people isn't statistically significant, but if the same thing was done over here, 10 out of 10 citizens of the same young adult age group would recognise the word/concept, at least superficially, probably even to some depth.
So, sure, Japan probably has plenty of feminists somewhere, but it's a different question whether any products would sell domestically with an emphasis on such a thing. Based on my overall view of Japanese media, I wouldn't count on it. In fact even in the West a company only loses customers if they try to inject too much feminism in their products/marketing. The new wave bullshit feminists have ensured that.
@definitionofinsanity As much as I like Miyazaki's movies, and have them on my DVD/BD shelf, I'm not sure I'd have liked to ever personally work with the man. Many times the less you know about the person behind art/entertainment, the better. Just like with the women harassing Hollywood guys who made decent movies despite being of very questionable character themselves. Many famous novel authors, sculptors, painters, and such have also been terrible people and drunkards in reality.
