The TL on this is off because he'd have to avoid phrases that come from political ideologies that don't exist in their world. Feminism and political correctness do not exist in that world, since there are no men and they die at 20 - any real meta politics is a waste of precious time when you die so early. So to say "sexist thinking", they'd just reply "huh, what's that?" Etc.

@CrimsonSix is exactly right on this. Since he is the only man, gender duties effectively reverse in this world. Its the women's duty to ensure the only man known is kept alive and as such, as they said, should have a heavy armed guard and should be wearing heavy armor. He should not be fighting unless as a last resort. But manga logic right.

@Opticalwinter @CrimsonSix The problem with this kind of fiction is that there are as many views as people, and the Author can't possibly cover them all.

Personally, I agree. He can't save every single female in the world, but by having sex with 2-3 different ones each day, he'd soon save the whole city AND start repopulating. And maybe the babies are not cursed?
Putting himself in harms way is 120% moronic.

But let's think about the other options for a bit.
Misaki already tried to kill him. Let's suppose all 3 of us agree that was absolutely moronic, and maybe even "unrealistic". Except we know Karens exist. "Unrealistic" is a VERY loose term. A random psycho woman might kill him too.
Then, as single purveyor of mating, some poweful women (Queen?) may decide to "keep him safe"...by locking him in the castle. What do we do with pandas? Again, personally I don't think a life of being fed and sexed is all that bad, but jokes aside, I'm sure there are guys out there who'd want more out of life.
Plus, reallistically, how many times can we really go? 5 a day absolute tops? We're not porn actors. 2 hours? That's a lot of day left at the end of the sex.
Give a further twirl. Some powerful chick decides 5 a day is not enough. Maybe they can drug him to increase his stamina. And if he refuses, well...maybe he doesn't have the right to refuse. After all, the fate of humanity depends on him.
Or maybe, seeing how the chicks go fuck-crazy, some women decide just one time to free the curse, and no more sex ever, is not enough. Maybe they kidnap him and lock him in a basement to keep him for themselves.

Y'know, I think that (^) is then kind of "discussion" or "inner monologue" that sometimes should apear in a WN/manga, but that I feel would bore 95% of the readers.
Point is, I'm sure there are even more possibilities than the ones I just came up with, all bad and dangerous in some way. So author picks the one that can get the story rolling, and tries to give a reason (and fails at it cause this author isn't exactly amazing).

I kinda get it now, how a lot of the comments talk about Misaki being best girl.

Despite the initial mindbreak, she's still the stern-yet-caring leader of the Quintets. She even gave up her chance of travelling with Youta just for the OG duo to journey together (yeah, and she just cares for Lumi way too much).

This is literally the end of the starting kingdom arc. What's gonna happen after this?

The thing about Youta's logic in this chapter is that it's actually not pragmatic at all. He claims that, in a world where he's the only man, he should keep the girls safe, when it's actually the other way around. As the only man in the world, he is (as far as he knows) literally irreplaceable. If he dies to an accident or one of the many monsters in this world, then the girls will be stuck with their 20-year lifespans. He shouldn't be going anywhere without a heavy guard, and he certainly shouldn't be fighting personally (unless he absolutely has to). That's what the pragmatic option would be, it has nothing to do with being "politically correct".

I know I’m responding to a take from 6 years ago but I don’t think it takes a rocket scientist to see that youta isn’t actually as intelligent as the author is trying to depict him as. The author makes a show of his deductive reasoning & lack of typical turbo virgin variety of cowardice but it’s replaced by him being utterly incompetent and awkwardly misogynistic for no reason despite his behavior in chapter 1, every chapter since the first has basically just been him bumbling around even after he realizes time is of the essence, bro doesn’t actually ask any one what the fuck he should actually be doing and just makes decisions based off unreliable information, dumber than the walking character tropes he’s been fucking.
