People dying from a precise age because of a curse put a long time ago.
I think it is not a coincidence that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 got the same plot lol.

Leigh-Mary and Lumi tried to stop Youta from killing the witch's true body but failed. Leigh-Mary told Youta that the witch is indeed telling the truth that she only eats body parts to extend a person's life. This caused Youta to be angry at Leigh-Mary for jumping the gun. Fortunately for them, the witch's body regenerated.

As a token of peace, the witch tells the trio the backstory of how Kanejo went from village to village, picking up girls and banging them. The chapter ends with Kiki's first encounter with Kanejo.
