It was suspected for a very long time, but proof only came out then.
After all, it was very weird for that small banking country, to not be attacked at all during ww2.
@Falcolas It is its name, the British Royal isles only refers to the Cayman Islands but I can’t confirm that. Either way that’s what the collection of islands are called “Channel Isles” besides Isle of Man is northern and not part the collection of islands, I think the writer mistook Sark or Alderney for the Isle of Man since they have a similar shape, I can’t remember off the top of my head additionally we only call ourselves the bailiwick of Guernsey or for Jersey, the bailiwick of Jersey so that would be what is considered something only the locals will call it
I say writer but I guess it could be a translator error? Hard to know considering
@Mewples Reading the below, it shows that the "Channel Isles" are those south of the Great Britain, in the channel between England and the mainland, not between England and Ireland. The Isle of Man appears to be officially included in the British Isles (which also includes Great Britain and Ireland). If you have another resource, I'd love to read about it some more. It's made for some interesting research.
@Falcolas We are part of the UK but yeah we are no apart of the British isles as said but Isle of Man is but yeah we are further south still it’s surprising this comic has been really steadfast with a lot of their history and resources I guess where I live is just a natural enigma
