You came and saw a series, and just chalked it up to "Momotarou, but more anime", but you failed to notice the author is Cool Kyoushinsha. That means underneath the lovable characters, there is surprisingly deep writing and topics of how fear and hatred is handled. Yup, Cool Kyoushinsha's works stand on three pillars of truth:
1) Complex problems are complex and have reasons for continuing.
2) People don't just "overcome" emotional turmoil at the drop of a hat.
3) Breast size correlates to amount of supernatural power.

the story is all over the place, like momotaro and alice in wonderland got mixed together. or rather, this is a mix of western and japanese stories into one with a bit of "Twist" in their personalities like that game Sin-o-Alice. also the title is horrible which doesn't really suites the story besides the names and the references of momotaro. the art is great though but the mixture is kinda weird since they have modern uniforms like the sailor girl uniform and medieval parts like armor and such... i was even expecting something good with this despite the fact that the title is kinda off-putting but only the action parts and art are kinda okay, while the story and culture is shit since they mix modern and medieval in a very weird way. seems like when they made this, they didn't know which culture to make for the story's theme.
