@banjomarx yea its pretty true, when given information, most people take it to either be completely true or warp the information so it complies to their wordlview. Its like the internet troll that said people swallow 8 spiders in which even people with degrees in high education believed even when their job was to verify information. Or if lets say in the stone age, if people saw a tornado, they would view it as god's wrath when in reality its a build up of different temperature in particles.
