@codetaku At the very least he was a Adulterer. He cheated on his wife with another woman. Which is a great sin. However the reason people forgive him because he actually sought redemption. Here the list he did for redemption.
1) He went though the legal proceedings and paid the amount he own her. It didn't matter is she was clearly lying Because in the end he used her for adulatory.
2) He give a Official public apologie and actually meant it. Which requires to humbling oneself down.
3) He went back to his wife and fixed his mirrage. Which is hard to do. Most Adulterers usually ended up divorcing.
In the end he did his repentance, and i know mercy is a hard concept for a lot people, but he did his work and earned his forgiveness. It was not matter what time period it was, but simply a matter of mercy that people extended to a sinner.
