Getting kind of sick of the whole reason why he is so weak now not being addressed. From the looks of things it will never be brought up again except for when he had his energy restrictors[or whatever its called] released.

My understanding was that before he was basically running on brute steength but now he can go beyond that but it seems wasted since it happened so long ago [and he still seems to not understand what she did to him] Its all being blown off as him just being emtionally soft compared to how he was when he was a mercenary.

Well, being soft when ur a mercenary or in that kind of business could prove fatal, not only 2 ur self but also to ur companions. Actually for me he has gone stronger, in a sense where he is now spot on decisive.

rather than soft, i would say he have different priority compared to his mercenary days. If it about his children, he'll become way more stronger than his old self.

@maisonaustyn He's stronger than he's ever been, the problem is that he isn't brazen/ruthless about it and is more cautious than he used to be from what I can gather and to a group of mercs that is a sign of weakness/going soft. For example, who looks stronger in this situation? A man confronts person A and person A kicks his ass. A man confronts person B and person B walks away because it would cause trouble for his family. That restriction of having family is what makes him look weak even though his family has pushed him to be as strong as he has ever been, he just hasn't had a chance to really show off his potential.

As far as I can tell, the sweeper is not one of the 5 strongest, although he fought Noya. He's just a step below the 5 thus why he can remain hidden in the Heavenly Dragon Association. The Heavenly Dragon probably allows him to remain there. From Chapter 14

He was working with the previous government and was on par with Noya, Mo Wei and Water Demon's master (All their figures were shown when talking about the top 5, a lot of chapters ago). Now however, he is taking it easy and I am pretty sure that the person he made the promise not to use martial arts with is the Administrator. That is why he knows about him being there but the Twins don't

Translating wuxia story can be difficult. The translators and the readers may not be familiar with the tropes. And no rule when to use the English translations or the Korean/Chinese ones for those martial arts terms/sects/titles. As a result I’m pretty confused now who’s who.
