I'm probably alone in this, but did anyone feel like, the longer this goes on, the more forced the romance feels? We still have no idea why she fell for him in the first place, and it feels like it'll never be addressed at this rate. As for him, while we're getting glimpses of him cracking, he still seems vehemently against it and forced into this the entire time, despite being able to get out of it whenever he wants, but he refuses to speak up.

To be clear, I'm not against the relationship, per se, but the longer these antics persist, the more it feels forced and... maybe even uncomfortable?
she did literally force it on him?

most likely she comes from an abusive home and needed someone to get her out of it, he seems to get on some level that she is in need of help and doesnt want to abandon her

I feel exactly the same way.
I'm not always on board with age gap relationships but it seemed fine(?) in the beginning and it slowly got more and more uncomfortable tonally.

I can't figure out why I feel like this

The more I read this, the more I suspect she is some kind of succubus, she is too good at convincing people that their marriage is ok XD

Ok, so, I'm a bit confused. In the art teacher case she's said to be a graduate student attending an art school, yet she keeps being called a high school girl. So... which is it? Or am I missing/misunderstanding something here?

It is awkward, forcing/blackmailing someone into a relationship with you is messed up
