Feels like a mystery trope, which right after many people saying they should stick together, everyone splits up anyway due to one reason or another.
This time, they didn’t even go in pairs, though they’re kids excited they could be a “detective”. Which… is kind of makes sense.

Why did they split up...

I suspect that the person who pushed Kuchinashi was the murderer and not the sus teacher. After all, she's the only person who has more than two brain cells is known to the murderer as someone who's solved cases before.

Many thanks to disciple-chan for that! I can't even be effed to remember her name, such is my disdain for her.

[inserts complaint about a lack of
magnificent moustaches for our erstwhile detectives]

I'm kinda liking this story more than the others, if only because of the Scooby Doo setting

I also think the sus teacher might not even want her killed right now, or at least not randomly killed like that for the time being because she definitely would try to get as far away from him as possible and if she doesn't knkw someone is out to kill her, why would he even bother making himself known to her if it's just as simple as murder because it needlessly puts him into the pool of people close to her that could kill her easily which narrows down the list of potential killers a lot.
And if he really is connected to what happened in her past (which is about a 99% chance considering what we've been shown) he very well could be back to do whatever it was again before killing her.
But i could also be wrong since i could see him doing it in a sorta panic after learning she's helped solved murders before, which could also explain why he stopped the other adult from stopping them... or the murder and the landslide aren't connected at all and he intended to use the landslide as an excuse to have her go missing without anyone suspecting him :notlikethis::notlikethis::notlikethis:

the self-proclaimed "disciple" is pissing me off so much that I wish she'd be the next victim
