Is it possible to do anything about people changing to the wrong content rating deliberately or adding false content tags? This just happened to Peep in the popular new titles list. It’s shameful that people abuse these settings for their own interest. I think people abusing their editing powers like this should have their rights revoked.

Edit: good that it was changed back, but really you should do something about those that abuse their powers like that.

I looked at PEEP and there's a depiction of rape in the first chapter followed by the MC getting pissed on, so the current erotica and sexual violence tags seem justified.

EDIT: The fourth chapter also contains a nonconsensual handjob, which further justifies the tagging.

Surely seems justified when you see what you want to see, when you don't know the author's background, and don't read any other chapter.
Ask yourself the following questions:

Does this work depict sexual violence?
Yes, yes it does.

Is there a tag that denotes when sexual violence takes place?
Also yes.

Should the work that depicts sexual violence receive the sexual violence tag?
If you said anything other than "yes," you are wrong

Neither the author's background nor any other chapter bears any relevance to the tag and how it is administered.

Well, that's what it is, right? No vote, no popular decision, the one that matters is the one with the power.

Let's just make it very clear for the community, shall we?
@BraveDude8

So, if I only express a different opinion, you punish me by removing my power to edit any manga information?
Including Hajimete no Gal, which have nothing to do with this one?

Uh, you did look at Mangaupdates for those category tags, right?

This series is without a doubt erotica and approaches porn territory in my opinion. The only tag that might be arguable is the "Sexual Violence" one, and I mostly agree with the tag being there.

Refer to my previous message, jfc

In chapter 4 ALONE (the newest one posted less than an hour ago at the time of writing): the MC is given a handy already dropping the suggestive tag and into erotica.

Rules 2.2.2 and 2.2.2.1 explain a little more in depth if you're still confused.

Also, the tags are clearly defined for a reason I suggest you familiarize yourself with them unless you still lack basic reading comprehension.

I think you still don't understand that I don't care if the manga keeps with the tag or not, I just care that this should be done in a public vote, and not behind closed doors in the blink of an eye.
And, that there's no reason to remove my power to edit titles, as I didn't change anything to troll. This tag debate is happening only now.

You sure do seem to care about it.

Like I said, make it clear and public, and it's all right.
If you are ok with abusive power against any opposite opinion, you must be careful, today is against some random, tomorrow can be against you.
And I'm saying, there are guidelines that have been made clear and public. Every user has access to them at any time. Once a guideline has been met, there is little leeway for discussion, this has always been the case.

Peep has been locked for everyone, but I can't speak for the other title.

Mods do regularly hold discussions of certain issues and situations amongst themselves, and on occasion take feedback/input from a wider audience (power uploaders, group leaders, contributors, etc. on discord). So while not as "public" as you might want, things don't just happen in a vacuum and are not arbitrary.

Its not abusive power against opposite opinions, moderators have always had the final say in all matters. Much like a judge you can make your argument and present your evidence, but its up to them and how they interpret the situation and the site rules and guidelines (which are public and were made with the input of many people outside of staff).

Let's break it down into steps, from my perspective, shall we?

The PEEP Manga was initially added without tags.
Someone suddenly added tags.
It was understood to be a mistake, and I removed them.
The tags returned.
I removed them again.
There is a discussion on MangaDex.
The tags reappear, PEEP is locked.
A very quick and arbitrary decision, at least a vote was necessary, not just the opinion of a few, I say in the forum.
A few days later, I lose my editing power for ALL titles due to some arbitrary punishment.
I have no answers, I have no information. From my perspective, I lost and lost, in the pure silence of the night and anonymously.
I did not troll, I did not curse, and I did not offend. If things are so arbitrary with tags, who guarantees that I won't be banned tomorrow in the silence of the night?

You even revoked my editing power for "Hajimete no Gal", mate. Seriously? Could you be any less abusive? I don't care if you don't want to permit me to edit any other title, be as abusive and arbitrary as you want, but leave Hajimete no Gal out of it.

This may not be a democracy, but be fair, will you?

This is not even about the tags anymore.

The problem is that I don't see a moderator coming here and talking to me about this. What I saw were actions and more actions happening anonymously from my perspective. All that I want is a good talk, that's all.

You did a good talk about the subject, that was the only thing that I wanted to see. I'm not here for a fight, I just want a fair place.

and to add some additional information even before BraveDude8 posted that, this topic was already being discussed by several of "us" on discord. While there wasn't complete consensuses on the "sexual violence" tag I don't remember anyone saying that the "erotica" tag was wrong.

Oh and just so you know, mods regularly place restrictions on accounts to get people to come to them when messes like this happen. There are simply too many users and too few mods for them to waste time trying to track users down. (e.g. people tend to pay attention when something gets taken from them)

You aren't banned from posting chapters because this has nothing to do with posting chapters; you're banned from editing manga because you've abused your ability to edit manga. The manga being locked at these tags isn't a punishment, it's stopping people from incorrectly labelling it; it's fortunate that the manga was already locked, otherwise your credits page would have resulted in many people vandalising the page.

Your edit rights were removed because you've stated multiple times that you believe the accuracy of tags is less important than having more people see a manga. You can't be trusted to edit anything, not just this title, if your attitude towards accurate data is this cavalier.

This title starts with a depiction of rape, is immediately followed by the MC getting pissed on, and then spends half a chapter focusing on a girl's naked crotch. You said "Surely seems justified when you see what you want to see, when you don't know the author's background, and don't read any other chapter." and I still don't understand what you mean; how does the background of the author, or "seeing what i want to see" make this not erotica? Tags aren't modified based on external factors like wanting it to show up on the front page or the tastes of the author, they're based on what's depicted in the work. I opened chapter 4 and saw the MC getting jerked off while saying "stop", so it looks like it's continuing to earn both tags.

There was no official statement about the tag's situation at that time. This is abusive power, nonetheless.
But hey, You are the jury, the judge, and the executioner, right?
Yep, this is not a fair place at all. You took me Hajimete no Gal, this is not over.
