@kazamakj Without EXP Share or something similar, non-combat roles will level
incredibly slowly. Think of it like this: it takes 100xp to reach Level 2 and you gain experience just by doing things related to your job, say, 1/2 of an experience point per day. Meanwhile, in combat, you could be gaining 20-30 experience points per day. Through combat, you'd reach Level 2 in 3-5 days. Through just training your job, it would take 200 days or 6.5 months. And levels
always increase in the amount of xp required, so while a combat class could probably see Level 10 in about 3 years or less, that same amount of growth would take the support class, like the Alchemist, exponentially longer. That's also not taking into account the fact that combat classes could theoretically be gaining xp from training their job while in combat, so they'd be getting something like 1.5xp compared to the support's .5xp.
A lot of modern games have an EXP Share mechanic specifically to combat this imbalance, but it wasn't uncommon for older works to only award xp based on how involved in the fight a character was. This series clearly follows the older model.
@HaikenEdge Isekai are, first and foremost, wish fulfillment and who
hasn't imagined going to an entirely new world where you have awesome powers and don't have to worry about final exams or paying taxes? There's also the fact that, to put it plainly, there's no use crying over spilled milk. If you're already dead or transported by the time you realize it and there's no going back, why bother worrying over it instead of worrying about what you'll face in the near future?
