@Knighto

I think while the maid does like the MC, there's still the stigma that he's a useless jobless kid. The maid looks down on him while his mother pities him. They really can't help it due to that is what is common knowledge in their world, and no one has yet to become powerful with a class/job like him.

To be honest, he really isn't a prodigy when it comes to magic. It might only seem that way due to him being 20 or so years old now, and he also has the knowledge of being from our (or similar) dimension.

she's still his maid and should give respect and it's not the first time she says those words, specially knowing that it hurts the boy.

and even if he appears as a prodigy, his class is bad, but that doesn't the maid should trash talk a friggin kid.

I'm so tired of manga chapters dedicated to just telling you about the world or the magic system. It's such a waste of time...unless you only read one then you're never going to remember it. And even then it's always the same 6-7 elements. Much in the same way with Villainess manga they always have one of the chapters dedicated to just telling you who each of the capture targets are. Why not show it properly in the story? But no instead they waste pages on just vomiting exposition at you and it's so tedious.

now it’s time for the kid, and the reader, to sit in the classroom for an entire chapter and discover that the world is 100% default fantasy bullshit

So support mages can use offensive magic then? She didn't seem surprised about the fusion thing.

@Grimwear Worldbuilding can be oodles and kaboodles of fun when done right, but shonen manga tends towards template-based storytelling elements rather than people just coming up with cool unique concepts from the depths of their imagination, especially when it comes to isekaishit, so things just start feeling familiar after a while (possibly since the 90s, if you've been there for the NES era when all this shit was starting).

@Grimwear: There are also other examples, in which a system is introduced and....that's it. You know that there are XP, Skill points, level-ups, MP, HP ,SP, or better said you are left assuming most of those exist and the MC gets heaps over heaps of OP cheatskills without any reference, that are nerved down again or get even more powerful, because of BS reasons, as the system is left far too open. Reasons are just introduced moments before they are needed in stories and this looks like stuff is just simply being pulled out of the ass.
Too much dedication to introducing such systems is boring, but it might still pay off, just like setting clever hints and evidences is much needed for a good detective story. Given a well designed system, the reader can expect/try to guess what happens next. But if you (as the author) manage to surprise them anyway (e.g. by cleverly abusing the system) the experience to read the story will be even more delightful.

Its like twinklecake already wrote, oodles and kaboodles of fun! (When done right.)

BTW: Am I the only one, who thinks it is stupid to jump from a rooof, without knowing you cane pull of a safe landing?

It was very lame that his "wind pressure" was so strong without doing anything... Would be better to find out it's uses and making it stronger with his support skills. Actually make it a reason for his class. Would be more fun to read rather than the usualy trope of being strong just because.

.The support magician reminds me of the Red mage of final fantasy or the Bard in Dungeons & Dragons. A jack of all trades master of none. Where they may not be able to use advance magic they can easily use all types of low level magic that other classes don't have access too. also unlike other spell casters they aren't physically weak and can fight using both range and melee attacks.

The advantage of this type of class is that it's supposed to adapt to the party and fill in whatever role is missing. Need a extra healer cause your party is accident prone = suport magician. Need someone sneak around and act as a sniper cause your party is planning an improved ambush but you don't have a ranger or a rouge = suport magician. Your main magician specialized in fire magic but your facing a Sea beast who is immune to fire use your support magicians basic lighting strike to weaken it and have them also buff eveyone to give them an advatage.

@Spicykun right? depending on the game using the red mage analogy, they also get other things that frankly make them a better choice than their higher level spell casting siblings (namely things like quick casting, on top of actually being decently strong physically. ) red mages and bards are fantastic, just some people don't think creatively enough to get mileage out of them.

When you have only 1 skill point and apparently will never get another? Let's spend it right away without researching if there is a very very important skill you need.

I'd read the full 10000000 page skill list before spending it. Hell, would of asked so many questions that it'd be impossible to cheat me.
