Per-chapter tags :rejected:

As a user, I'd like the ability to tag by chapter for a series - tags tend to accumulate as a series continues, and aren't necessarily indicative of the content of the whole series when they do.

For example, the sexual violence tag on kemono jihen. (https://mangadex.org/title/20973/kemono-jihen) this tag only applies to an arc that's about 5 chapters long in the backstory of a side character. The tag _is_ appropriate for the arc, so it's not unjustified for the series, bit it is misleading.

Pairing this feature with a pre-chapter warning similar to the missing chapters dialog when a chapter contains content filtered in your preferences or outside of the tags of the series, and potentially with a spoilered justification for the tag to keep readers informed.

That would be a huge pain in the ass to implement and support. One new chapter of SL would put this site down for days.

Good suggestion. +1

I think this is a good idea, but rather than just all tags, we could "trigger warning" type of things.
Like ; gore ; ,,,,those scenes , scenes that may talk about suicide, etc.
Whether that's by a screen flashing open and saying "tw: gore; continue?" , or having translators implement warnings at the beginning, or even having the option of being able to "hide" the certain panels.
(sorry if this is a little off topic)

Our warning systems need improving, that's for sure, but we definitely don't want per-chapter tags. Too many groups will be either unwilling to maintain their own or overly enthusiastic with them. I can already see it leading to situations where two groups have translated the same chapter, and one of them has several tags while the other has none.
