reminds me of "my secret brother," but more dramatic

wait edit: actually tf. this is so much like my secret brother but worse.
from the redhead that double crosses the mc to the fuckall crazy yandere that deals with money and shady shit behind the scenes that chases after the mc's to the brother that's playing a game with the mc. only different here is that classroom mc doesn't have a guy she likes and wants to protect nor is she physically violent. instead, she just wants to inherit a company but can't because of her gender. kinda dumb for a backstory tho ngl. if her father was any smart, he'd invest in his daughter inheriting if she's better than her brother lmao.

at least secret bother mc doesn't use and dispose of people to the point where they all betray her. instead, she's genuinely loved by many because she tries to protect them

Well, now that it's over I can't say it was very good. It wasn't awful, and I could potentially see a bunch of ways it could have gone to make the whole thing more meaningful, but overall it was kind of just contrived, tried to be edgy, didn't go hard enough, couldn't stick the landing and then it just sort of ended. I don't feel like I was fulfilled by reading it but I also don't feel like I want more.

It just sort of...was.

Wow this story ended extremely poorly. I spent all this time reading just to have an ending like that? I suggest people don’t waste their time reading this. It just leaves a foul taste and it’s not even fulfilling. I felt like the ending was just a whole bunch of twists thrown together for the sake of this being “edgy” and “dramatic” but it failed. It started off strong and just ended. Like there was nothing more, it simply ended. The author’s excuse of their original story being a lot darker doesn’t convince me either. This wasn’t even that dark to begin with. Anyways, Hee Joo was the only character I liked a bit. Her brother didn’t have much development which is probably why I could care less for his backstory and it explains why this ending is garbage to me. Besides all that, Hee Joo was the better twin. She had a lot more capabilities and was a lot smarter. Her brother was a cheap imitation of her and the only reason she “lost” was because she had the decency to care a bit for him which obviously backfired on her. If there’s anything I took away from this it’s that you can never trust anyone and guilt is a strong way to manipulate someone.

I regret reading this, I feel bad for saying this but it's kind of bad. I don't say this often but the writing... Tried too hard to be edgy and with the usual twists and the cheap backstory elements. I was interested in it due to the award-winning tag and the concept, but it is not good I'm sorry.
I do recommend "My Secret Brother" to anyone reading this. It's very different from this series. But that series is better written than this one and great if you want two siblings that can be batshit crazy sometimes and manipulative if need be. Though it's not as edgy as this series if that's what you like.
