This version of Naoto is not only canonical but had to be present in P5. During the development period of the game there were interviews with the developers and it seems that initially Naoto was considered as a secondary character. Her role would have been to investigate the protagonists of course, then it was probably decided to abandon the idea and the role was divided into 3 characters. Anyone who knows P5 can imagine who I am referring to. Di Naoto in P5 remains only a quote as the first "detective prince"

Well it's more like the manga completed serialization but they cancelled the third volume, meaning chapters 13-20 can only be found in the magazines. I have up to chapter 16
