I had to fact check the history of forks, and to my surprise, it took until around the 11th century for the fork to became more common in Italy, and it wasn't until way later that the rest of Europe started using forks. And even then, it started out as just a royal/rich people thing.

Thanks for the translation!

But wow it's pretty sad that the modern world and her family is literally right in front of her but she can't go back to them.

That aside, cute chapter and really informative! Also, I was reminded of those "this would disintegrate a victorian era child" memes, this isn't the victorian era, but she can still test that theory now...

So close, yet so far. A typical reincarnated isekai would've been a better fate. Hoping she will find a way back in the future :meguuusad:

Sleeping naked in drafty houses during winter doesnt seem that likely to me. But I guess the author had to insert fan service somehow.

The north, which didn't grow rice, ate rice gruel for breakfast?
Likely a translation error, the northern parts of Europe would be eating things like gruel made from oats and other grains.

Given how medieval clothing worked, and how difficult it was to do laundry with limited clothing (cloth was expensive people would not own more than one or two outfits) naked sleeping is possible, if not probable. The alternative is that she sleeps in her chemises or linen underclothes which are changed out everyday for hygiene's sake (as opposed to the overclothes of dresses etc).

Minor translation quibble but the English name is the region of Franconia, rather than Franken. And a Holy before that Roman empire, whilst not accurate to contemporary accounts, is the modern historical convention.

Dont know if I wish for the little sis to also come over there so she can be with MC, or if I want MC to go back to her own world (with her new future wife ofcourse) so she can be with her little sis or if I just want that portal to work both ways so they can both just go between worlds as they like

I completely missed this while typesetting, so I checked the raws myself and specifically 'Okayu' (お粥) is used. In modern Japanese, this basically exclusively refers to rice porridge. Every Jp->En Dictionary that I checked specifically gives 'rice porridge' as definition. Even googling images of this also only shows rice porridge specifically.
The Jp->Jp Dictionary, however, does add that it can be "wheat, millet, and buckwheat". I'll just take out the 'rice' part.

I forgot where exactly this takes place but I'm just waiting for the Guelphs, Slavs, Danes, Italians, or a random lord gaining power with the fragmenting of the HRE to come marching in and cause a problem

or just have the church come in and do something nonsensical like call her a witch, something that does not happen for another 200 years lol

Let the yuri get cooked! What a lovable imouto, I hope they get to move two ways-wise but I suppose that'd end the manga, so let's see how much quality time those two can share. I find it quite accurate for that era, even in Scandinavian countries people would sleep naked but using pelts to keep themselves warmer, but this indeed varies from country to country. The total opposite of all this would be Spain, where not only Catholics avoided bathing but also hid the naked body (even alone) the more zealots they were, same for breakfast (fasting was strickly followed from March to April for instance, but certain religious orders would fast all year around). I can't even fathom how bad it smelled in Middle Ages to the point people would get "visions", but it's more than comprehensible that illneses would ravage entire settlements.

I love how much research the author does for this series. I look forward to getting to the end of the chapter and reading about what they found out.

Thank you for the translation (Rachel's German boobs are so plump and pretty. Girl makes sure her melons aren't malnourished).

I guess people applied to hay what is being applied to wheat noodles.
