At this point I kind of agree with the Guild Master. His daughter is way too pure for a Peter Grill harem... even though we all know she'll be added in the end.

Considering how EVERYONE in the kingdom supposedly knows that the guy with the strongest seed has a bunch of women chasing after him, and considering how it's arguable over half the time he didn't consent or was in a situation where he was forced or coerced to have sex by circumstance, I think she'll not only forgive him, but she's probably well aware of him laying with the other women. Maybe she's a cuckquean and that's her kink or something, as we know she's the one who set it up so if he won the competition, he would be able to be engaged with her. @PlanOfInaction

I can't be the only one who feels bad for MC, can I? Because Grill didn't want this, he just wanted to get married, but all these harem chicks are out there, borderline molesting him daily to unhealthy levels when he just wants to be engaged to his gf, as his psycho sister threatens to kill any cheating man and his son-to-be overprotective father-in-law will make his life a living hell as he tries to break them up. Not to mention, as soon as he gets married, those harem chicks ain't gonna just disappear. He's a victim of circumstance more than anything, it's like watching Odysseus trying to get back to Ithaca as he's held hostage by a bunch of women.

Unrelated note, but that obvious foreshadowing and exposition at the end is hilarious and borders on a 4th wall break.

@Tamerlane
Well, Peter must just forget guildmaster`s daughter. She is hopeless anyway.
And yes, he is victim. Not blameless, but still victim.

@Tamerlane fuck that, Peter is a scumbag who knows he actually wants to fuck all those harem girls but keeps denying it and insisting he really wubs his fiancee thathe barely seems to do anything with.

the "blackmail" is laughable and the whole point of the chapters with Ogre dood was to hint that Peter actually enjoys his new life instead of his old bland engagement that he seemed to be only going along with out of inertia.

He is absolutely not a "victim of circumstance", he needs to man the fuckup and break things off with his fiancee like he obviously wants instead of this stupid "Noooo I totally hate this even though I always use the dumbest and flimsiest excuses to have sex with the girls that I vastly overpower" charade.

Just because he enjoys it and is aroused by them doesn't mean that it isn't rape or sexual assault and love is deeper than lust @1986ctcel

Again, I bring up Odysseus who had to have sex with Circe and Calypso. Did he enjoy it? Probably, as they're both goddesses. But he didn't love them, and by the power dynamics and circumstances, it was still rape. The book starts with him looking out on the ocean, longing for home whilst Calypso has him bound to her island.

It's constantly reinforced that Peter genuinely loves his fiancee and that he's constantly drawn to have sex for various reasons, such as lust, blackmail, circumstance, and situation. It's black comedy, sure, but I don't think it's fair to characterize him as a scumbag this easily. He's definitely not in normal circumstances and the events around his actions do make it a bit hazy.

The guildmaster might be a senile old git but he's not wrong about keeping her away from grill at this point, lol.

He's the true hero of this story.
