Like a couple other commenters have said, I love/hate it when this manga updates because it makes me feel totally stressed out with anxiety. I'm not sure what my brain thinks is going to happen that is so terrible, but the tension is killing me.

Hario, big dummy, the guy couldn't accept no as an answer and now he's surprised that she's drifting away from him.
I'm pretty sure Ema just give up and surrender after the x times he and other dudes came to her asking for a date or wanted to confess their love. I would say she chooses Hario because he was the less horrible of all her pretender.
Also, I think the friends and family played a big part in making them date and finally marry.

I'm more agree to your observation about Ema's family convincing her or rather pressured her to marrying him because I think they thought Hario san was seen as a good catch but the truth is I think he's selfish, for not taking "no" for an answer. Well, I hope he cracks and we'll see his true colors.😆
