"Witch's curse"? Did she really get cursed by a witch or something? Cause the future Elsa called herself a witch, and consider that in the novel Evie's mom died because of poor health make me think all of this relate to the future Elsa. I wonder if Evie wasn't really reborn because she has never mentioned about her past life, it feels like a pretext for things that will happen after she meets Elsa.

"a witches curse" okay hear me out here, I am probably incorrect here because I haven't re-read, or even thought about this series in a while, but could the curse be somewhat of a villainous system? I heavily doubt it but there's not really anything in my brain right now that can state what the curse could be, which will probably be explained in the next chapter. Real quick tangent on the villainous system I mean ever since Elsa and Yvonne kissed, "breaking" the chains of the villainous system, the story hasn't really brought the villainous system up, however now that Yvonne has gone back in time the breaking of that villainous chain no longer works as the bond has no longer broken (unless if the villainous system breaking is one of the things brought over from the parallel previous world to the "time travel where Yvonne and Elsa are young world"). So I wonder if the villainous system will ever be brought up again like if they bring it up with the "curse" Yvonne's mother has, or if Yvonne gets her villainous system back, or they will bring it up both times for Yvonne's mother and Yvonne herself, or they will only lightly bring it up for the rest of the story. I'm more thinking of the last option, and I am most certainly going into conspiracy hell-hole territory, so I'll just stop talking here.

Edit: I just realized how much I talk about the villainous system I think i need to gain a hobby that isn't constantly thinking of the villainous system

In chapter 58, we do see the Villainess System.

So we know it's still around and it's working on restoring itself.

Spoiler: Stuff from the Webnovel

In the Webnovel, they are a bit more explicit in how she will be freed of the Villainess System. In chapter 45 of the Webnovel, future Elsa's fortune telling in the tavern is more extensive and she says:

"You’re being controlled by something right now and made to do things that you don’t want to do, right? I know what you’ve been agonizing over. You want to be free of its control, right? It’s not impossible. As long as you open a completely new route, you’ll be able to reach the ending you want. However, what’s been bothering you won’t appear again for a while. You should seize the chance to not have any regrets.”

We know from this that creating a new route is what allows for Evie to escape the Villainess System, that it's currently being suppressed giving her a chance to act freely, and Elsa will at some point become directly aware of the Villainess System and gain some amount of power over it.

With this in mind, the curse Evie's mother is under being the Villainess System and Elsa having a role in curing her of that curse would make sense, give Elsa knowledge to help Evie with her problem, and help to drive forward their romance.

We know that a cure to the curse is found because we've been told that one of the big differences between what happened after she came to Evie's life and in the original otome game was that her mother survived her illness rather than dying of it so her dad stayed relatively normal.
