From what I'm let to understand is that Zyugoya just got bored of this story, stopped for a while, and is just winding it up so they can fully move on to something else, since this was supposed to be the follow-up after Demon Mom. Which sorta sucks because this manga is how I found them, but oh well! I'd rather this finish now than never get a finale. (or worse.)

This whole "storm the vampire world rescue mission super shonen fight" arc has been incredibly unfulfilling.

I actually wonder if that tonal shift was an attempt to try and juice the readership numbers by doing something different from what it was before and now that it hasn't worked the publisher gave them until chapter 50 to wrap it up and the story had to step on the accelerator to actually get something across the finish line instead of just a generic "the adventure continues" non-ending.

To me it feels like this is what he had in mind all along but haven't fleshed it out nor worked out the detail properly then got bored/hit a blockade along the way and now just tried to cooked up whatever half-baked idea he had into an edible final dish as best as he can so he could send it out of the kitchen over to the table.
