I feel like the author is gonna keep up the status quo for the rest of the manga, but maybe only because the releases are so slow

It seems our two leads are of the same mindset that they would like to make it an actual marriage instead of divorcing.

At this point it just feels like Rui can't put words to all of the feelings that she is feeling, but she is getting there and coming to realize her pretend husband is very important to her. She has always felt something special for him since they were younger, but knowing her she never tried to put words to those feelings and just brushed them off since love or relationships didn't interest her in the moment.

We will get there eventually. Just hopefully once they both admit to the other and then things progress this story doesn't end. But, I also really don't want drama like this if they end up legit being in love and married as an actual couple.

So close yet so far! They solved one misunderstanding, and he knows he should communicate further but he can't quite make the distance. It's just frustrating since she made sommuch progress being straightforward and vulnerable with him. Itsuki might need to step up as jealousy wingman again.

Say what you will about the drama but I'd rather the drama be from this than the usual: Character only hears a fragment of something -> Misunderstanding causes tension or distance for like 15 chapters -> Whole new drama scenario starts up because of the tension or distance -> Magical fix

It's not too late for that! He just set up the flag with lying about going to Itsuki's. I can see it now: "He lied to me about visiting Itsuki, is he really interested in his offer? I should distance myself from him and prepare for the divorce." Cue angst and set up for dramatic chapter 24 confession. (Please author don't do that).

As for him switching sides to our MC...I get the feeling he has always swung that way, but for Rui he was inclined to go that way instead as it seems like he has no real interest in any other girls.

With what Rui learned this chapter by fixing things by communicating I would find it VERY hard to believe that at the very least she would allow things to fester in such a way to become like this. However, I do see our MC here not being able to say the words he is thinking since is afraid of making one wrong move.
