After reading this chapter I'm now 90% sure Rui was never his target/love interest. He was probably using that as an excuse to get Kyosuke. If I'm being honest Itsuki was probably doing all that to spite Rui

I said in an earlier chapter I had been hoping Itsuki was an "actually a girl", would take interest in Kyousuke, and give Rui the kick in the butt she needs to value Kyousuke more and put more into the relationship.

If this is where it was going to go with Ituski anyway, that would've been a lot better and a lot simpler even if it's somewhat cliche/tropey. Or even just make him a gay guy that doesn't have the backstory with Rui. So many ways this could've been done more simply that would've been better.

While Itsuki being Bi is funny, I think the more realistic reading is that it's in Rui's POV. Like she's projecting her feelings for Kyousuke onto Itsuki, and so his "live in maid" (no homo) proposal to Kyousuke is more of a threat than Itsuki's very direct threat to ruin their pretend marriage.

And hence why her monologue makes sense. Why she is pissed off at the chance of losing him, when she could have just dumped him and fake married Itsuki. She thinks it is about the convenience of having a live in maid and she is getting him a shelter for fake marriage. but in reality she is growing attached to him and does not want to let him go or swap him for another fake Husband.

I was so angry at the start of the chapter because everyone was just plain dumb. Heck everyone is an grown adult so no one gets to investigate their marriage much less question them about it; but we intruding anyway.

It was so dumb that I was getting angry the author didn't do the "divorce beg play" suggestions from previous comments (I know they won't check illegally translated version comments, but it would be so fucking funny)
I was fuming when Kyousuke was consoling Itsuki, ready to drop the manga for being that stupid. Then Itsuki decided to reveal he is playing for both sides, so he will win either way lose twice; and that made my day.
Then the kiss. 10/10 manga keep making it ridiculous author-san. Godspeed.
