If I remember right, it has something to do with the other guy, Hayama. I think Tagami was jealous of him, and he asked Mugi if she’d have more confidence if Hayama said that he liked her. She didn't know how to reply, but he took the look on her face as her answer. So basically, he’s jealous and she isn’t sure how she sees Hayama.

I get the feeling that if Tagami hadn't made a move in the beginning Mugi would've wound up with the other guy eventually, and Tagami seems to be thinking the same thing. IIRC Mugi was kind of just going with Tagami's flow, especially in the beginning, and now that that flow has been disturbed she's gotten kinda rattled. Since the next volume is the last one they'll probably figure out their respective dilemmas, but I feel like the story is stuck in the sort of stalemate that would be dealt with in a paragraph or two in a novel.

Agree, it’s kinda stuck and extending in a lot chapters. Is it necessary? Maybe not, but I like how slow paced it is as they take the time to sort out things in themselves first.

The thing is that Tagami is too insecure about their relationship, which made Mugi feel bad because she thought, she wasn’t able to reassure him. They are just complicating stuff. Which isn’t Hiyama’s type. I think he’s either gonna get an explanation with Tagami or try to snatch her from him since he’s doing nothing to make up with Mugi and is only making her sad.
Probably the cliche of "I can give her up if she’s happy with you, but she’s not so I’ll take her away from you"? Aaah I hoope!!! >_<
