If the mc can, realistically, there isn't a good argument why another human can't achieve something similar with more time and experience. The guy's raw ability is lower but still super human. He then has a magic sword the make up the difference. Then there's the 'street fighting' point being made, like when Ryu and Ken first fight Guile in the anime and learn that, in street fights, pocket sand is a thing and that their training up to that point is insufficient for dealing with tricks. It's entirely reasonable for the mc to be struggling with someone whose been at the top for awhile when he's only recently got there.I get it that the MC could be poisoned, since it make sense that being way stronger doesn't mean you're immune to poison
But this is the same character that split the head of the giant turtle that give an entire elves country a problem, and somehow he can't handle a human that just got buffed a bit from a magic sword
These kind of stories genuinely always manage to annoy me
The paladin's advantage comes from indirect tricks and carefully maximizing his abilities at the right moment. It's not a general power gap. If he won here by just somehow getting stronger, it would contradict the setup. The point is how they wield power, not how much they have, and the mc wields it poorly right now. He's obviously not going to win unless he somehow gets a power boost that lets him match the insanely OP paladin that he had no chance of ever defeating in a fully equipped fight due to gear differences and level differences. He should have never accepted the duel. He should have shut his mouth and let the paladin badmouth his friends because he should have known there was no way to win that fight and been afraid of the conflict. But instead we're going to get characters making stupid decisions and MC becoming enslaved to this kingdom through this guild and giving up all his points and repeating his past because he's dumb, or we're going to get an insane power boost out of nowhere because the writer is incompetent.
This is all so very tiresome.
I honestly think we could also see him just getting a hit in due to skill/battlesense or due to an accident to explain away his winHe's obviously not going to win unless he somehow gets a power boost that lets him match the insanely OP paladin that he had no chance of ever defeating in a fully equipped fight due to gear differences and level differences. I do get your frustrations but the paladin himself said that it is different fighting a monster vs another person.I get it that the MC could be poisoned, since it make sense that being way stronger doesn't mean you're immune to poison

King looks the other way or finds a way for get the poison to Claude then has Leo following him around waiting to jump in. Kinda sad i was right about the King being an assI see, the King, huh... Then Claude is related to this too. Remember, his poison required a license to use. It was stated previously. So he must've acquired it either a) through the black market, or b) the king and leonard is involved in this for some conspiracy using Claude for the sake of getting Fildo.
