re:the bit about the king in the endnote the two thoughts aren't perfectly aligned but they aren't contradictory either:

she thinks the king had a duty to deal with reius so there wouldn't need to be a bloody uprising, but the process of doing that would have undermined her family (who were royals) so that's one possible reason why he didn't do it. she thinks he would have merged reius into another territory, effectively destroying it (but still saving lives)

and then she's grateful that reius was able to stay reius thanks to kaid taking it over instead. in an ideal world she would have wanted both - the lives to be saved and for reius to remain reius. in the end only one of the two was possible. in this chapter everyone from reius is very attached to it so the idea of it ceasing to exist and becoming part of darhi is probably very upsetting to her

About the TL’s comment: Shirley’s monologue about the king makes perfect sense, it was the King’s duty to keep order in his kingdom, specially when a lord is failing in keeping their lands in order. The conclusions she came up are all reasonable from the point of view of avoiding the bloodshed and disaster that her parents caused unto Reius. The King’s inability to act was a demonstration of the weakness she mentioned at the beginning of her monologue.

Definitely not a fan if she is changing to look how she was in her prior life. I also think it was shit of the king to not intervene for Reius' sake and the family's sake, but I recall the novel talking about how the royal family couldn directly intervene due to laws/customs of the nation as "no royal can kill another royal" thing and so relied on Keid to do it.

still, really shitty... still hate her wrongful death.

I dont know if ill be able to keep pace with this one. The weird throuple/harem dynamic that the author seems to be fostering is making me very uncomfortable. I dont know why every manga has to have a polygamous cast but its definitely not my cup of tea and tends to ruin perfectly good stories.

Inb4: "huur durr but [different genre] does it with women!"

Yeah i dont like the inverse of this dynamic either, i prefer normal, monogamous relationships. Im also not a fan of the sub male leads being pawned off as "the younger brother type." As they're very obviously the backup love interest. Theres just genuinely no need for that and it makes the FL look shallow and gross and makes the MLs look pathetic.

That being said, i can already tell that theres going to be some mouth-breather commenting on this getting all bent out of shape because a stranger on the internet doesn't like their favorite manga/trope/lifestyle.
