@monsoon Well, she did seem apologetic and regretful about it. I saw that as kind of introducing the importance of names and how it can be done unintentionally by those around us. I did notice the Izuki more often after

But I get what you mean on some topics needed to be handled with care and culture differences surrounding gender and sexuality. There’s also that in izuki’s new name, it’s carried with the weight of how the MC changed unwillingly and hates it so is trying to bury their past rather than embracing identity

For the cultural difference, I know some asian countries tend to have more sexist attitudes on gender roles but are also less divided by feminine and masculine norms in some areas (if that makes sense? Like some things perceived as feminine/not suited for men in some countries aren’t seen that way)

maybe this is a cultural difference but yeah idk why the cousin is deadnaming the MC. i think also this is the problem with having an "unwilling"?? trans MC which is kinda problematic... it's also interesting how despite the obvious blurring of sexuality that will happen in the future how the author uses a lot of assumed heterosexuality which i guess is super common in mainstream Asian and Western culture but still...
MC's gender bend was a wholly unnatural and unexplained phenomenon, and came onto the MC like a natural diaster. The name change was literally an identity change to not raise attention to what happened to the boy Itsuki.
