If you want more of this there’s a Franken Fran chapter with about the same base concept (I’d guess this was inspired by it) + a sequel chapter that diverts quite a bit from the original concept but is still about living mascots.

So there's this entire very specific sub-genera of horror manga that's "Cute thing X goes on a murder-rampage"; There's one that's animals gain sentience and go on a murder-rampage, there's another that's big flying goldfish, one that got canceled (rushed end) with big "Dollies", another that was stylized magical girls, and I'm pretty sure I'm missing a whole heck of a lot of others. Kind of like a Japan-specific riff on zombie apocalypses. What gives? Just a very specific type of story with a very specific audience?
