Maybe Yuuchan fell into a coma after some bad accident, the manga does mention he began soccer practice around that time. The mom might've had something to do with the accident, which could explain why she is the way she is... idk bro

My favorite story so far. I really loved how it sits right on the edge of supernatural and hauntingly real. Whether the young boy was spirited away by something otherworldly that eventually claimed the whole family, or whether the mother simply lost her mind after the tragic death of her son; the ambiguity is perfect. It gives you just enough to chew on, leaving the story lingering long after it ends.

I definitely need to watch the webseries soon.

I'm thinking that Yuuchan is... dead, but the mother tries in vain to cover the memories (hence pretending Yuuchan didn't exist), until the family can't take it anymore, or getting tempted by the robot maybe possessed by something?

Either the son died and the family's been powering on through the grief and can't take it

OR they did something really bad and the "son" that woke up ain't something mankind should know...

Yuu-chan dying is a possibility, but one would think that something like that would also have been reported. Unless the family covered it up somehow.

Oh, that was haunting! Fictional horror about less supernatural troubles usually get cheesy fast, but this somehow hit the sweet spot.

So have you guys gotten your checks yet? I mean, I'm assuming we get paid, if we're the ones doing 60% - 70% of the work trying to make these into scary stories...
Chapter 1 was pretty good since it actually built a world while Chapter 3 went the opposite way and gave us a quick fright without making us fill in the blanks. The other chapters are guilty as charged, I'll admit. It just doesn't seem like it's trying to have a continuity across the manga submitted which made even the weakest FDQ episodes compelling simply for their lore implications or the small connective hints dropped in them.

Seems to be a spin-off of the PLAN C episode. I always had the suspicion that those people ended up in a boundary between the normal world and a hell-like dimension as they simultaneously achieved a state of half-conscious, half-unconscious - but also half-dead (in case you forgot, the group in that episode was apparently doing a suicide pact with very similar methods to the family in this chapter). In this chapter, Miichan also makes a reference to "sleeping while being awake" which to me sounds like an intentional callback to that episode's circumstances. And the last manga drawn by "Yuu-chan" even shows their car heading towards the dark swirling portal that is not explicitly mentioned, but alluded to in PLAN C.

The primary difference was that the group of people in PLAN C completely vanished, seemingly having been spirited away by the residents of the other world as their screams (and the demonic beings' grunts) can be heard in the final seconds of the recording. But then we see that Sachi was drawn like she has horns - perhaps this was meant to signify that she was possessed by the other world along the way. In PLAN C, there was also one guy who suspiciously sounded like he was the one sacrificing everyone including himself.
