sure Elsa should probably say that, but Fajera also kinda preemptively countered that with the whole "beastkin simply take what they want", meaning that a showing of strength, forceful or otherwise, is respected more than any (seemingly human-centric) concept of agency.

so Elsa proving herself with "fists" would be, ostensibly, doing things The Beastkin Way, if Fajera and her grandfather's words and behavior are any indication.

that was my immediate thought. Fajera's introduction leading into a "cross-kingdom alliance" marriage with Circe is pretty blatant in its telegraphing, right down to the (very understandable) disrespect for Circe on the part of both the Beast King and his granddaughter. we even get a continuation/mirroring of the "enemies to lovers" motif that began with Evie and Elsa (villainess & saintess), which means the two of them getting together checks multiple boxes of storywriting, too.

I mean, by that argument the slave trade is fine because they were able to take the beastkin they wanted. They don't seem to be happy about it, though, so presumably there should be some level of agency for people beyond might making right.

People of all stripes are hypocritical when it comes to things they do versus those things being done to them. It's not even all that far-fetched that they would revile their people being taken, while still seeing their own might as "correct".
I wouldn't be surprised if the author doesn't lean that direction, nor do I think it's necessarily correct to do so.

But all of that aside--as far as Fajera herself is concerned, everything she's said indicates that she cares about strength, so fighting her with fists over words would arguably be a better way of "connecting" with her for all of them, and would more successfully earn her respect and future help & cooperation.
