I would do that if my relationship with my classmates were kinda strained due to how stupid I was acting. Trust me, you would've hated younger me as well.

I HAVE had old classmates pop up here and there later in life over the years.

I didn't even know who they were until they said so. Conversations tend to go:

npc:"Hey Moz long time no see! Remember me!?"

Me:"No...? Should I?"

npc:"It's me Yogurt! Don't you remember me?"

Me:"Not at all, sorry."

npc:"Oh... well... good to see you're doing well I guess haha... bye..."

Me:"Can I leave now?"

Hmm, that would be quite Odd, I wonder if they'd recognize me or vice versa. I maybe saw the start of first grade before I was homeschooled thereafter. I was too young to think anything of it, but I had quite a few friends. This one kid moved to New York before I left, this other one was a bully for a moment but then became my friend out of nowhere, I sometimes wonder if he is okay. The closest friends I had though were three girls. I remember two of their names... I was sensitive child then, and they were like guardian angels. I remember one was really into gymnastics and ballet, so I hope she's gone far.

If I saw any of them, I don't know what I'd do. Probably just say Hi, what more could be said really?

depends on what you mean by "childhood"

I don't even remember my primary school classmates, so if I met them, I probably wouldn't even know who they are

if I met my middle school classmates, they probably wouldn't even recognize me

high school?

I'll say hi, exchange some pleasantries, but that's it.

it would depend on if i actually knew/recognized them and whether the moon was in retrograde. i have seen some in public before but didn't recognize them until they recognized me. we just were like 'hey how's it going' for a little while and that was that.

How bold of you to assume I'd recognize someone in public!
But if they recognize me and speak first, I might be able to remember who they are based off their voice. Faces are hard man. A lot of people have like...a nose and eyebrows, probably a mouth...maybe eyes? Oh, there was that one guy who had a nail go through his eye, so he had one good eye left. If speaking with someone, exchanging pleasantries is a good start, but the social battery will be rapidly depleted due to the unexpected meeting of someone!
