Personally, this is losing heroine premise, or the generic trope of NPC become the highlight of the story instead of protag.
Not sure if this can sell well if serialized, as these niche stories always bloom fast and wither fast as it is.

Just in case this isn't clear, this is a tie-in promotion for a light novel releasing next month, and for which Naitou Marcey did the illustration work. It's not supposed to be a "testing the waters" thing or anything. Maybe the light novel will be successful enough to get its own manga adaptation later on, but we're not at that stage yet...
