Where can I find the novel? I like the story of the secondary characters getting their own story. Reminds me of an episode / arc of Nozaki-kun. But the manga is updating so slowly!

Seems like the original MC's eyes aren't made of wood, at least. He's still pathetic, though, trying to rely on his friend to solve problems that are entirely his own and no one else's. Furthermore, it could potentially hurt the friend a whole lot to use him to block a yandere's way.

Hate it when their friends ask for help and mc clearly rejects them but still keep pestering them about it till mc gives in. Okay-ish chapter tho

The funniest thing is, he never agreed. While they where talking about it, Sei just kinda walked up, said she’ll meet them at the gate (assuming she’ll be meeting both of them), and he kinda pawned it all off to the MC. So his “I’LL BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF YOU!” Response was apt, he literally wasn’t given a choice, he clearly said no, but now Sei will be waiting so he has no choice but to go otherwise he’ll be standing her up, and there is no way in hell he’ll do that willingly.

So essentially, best friend MC is kinda an oblivious asshole who makes promises he can’t keep and pawns it off on others. He doesn’t mean to do it, he’s just too carefree and doesn’t think before he acts and leaves others to deal with his problems. I won’t spoil anything, but our MC gets revenge eventually in a semi ironic way, his carefree nature will come bite him in the ass in spectacular fashion.
