The hospital could provide better service, but Claroa was a doctor so they would probably only cure the symptoms also.

Claroa wish to preserve a memory of someone who love, but wouldn't make a person die to do so, his wife and daughter wouldn't be in any danger so their depart seems unreasonable a part it's hard to live among those "memorials".
